VON KOTTWITZ JEWELRY
Already an exhibit? Congrats Kate and Laura….Glad you liked the pieces of VonKottwitz (the Bib and the Collar) we sent you as well! (Perhaps Nicolas Kirkwood was inspired for his S/S 10 Rodarte hardware heels?) From MYKROMAG: More power to Rodarte. Not only has sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy’s fashion label been recognized as one of the most important fashion houses in the United States, a fashion installation of Rodarte’s collection will be featured in “Quicktake: Rodate” at the Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum. Rodarte is known for their meticulous and romantic designs. The Mulleavys are known to create one-of-a-kind gowns and ready-to-wear knitwear, which are coveted for their meticulate yet daring, conceptual craftsmanship and unique, imaginative designs. The museum announced Rodarte as the finalists in the Fashion Design category for the 2009 National Design Awards. “Quicktake: Rodarte” offers an eyeful peek into the Mulleavys’ journey of thought and processes at an important point in their career. The exhibition will be on view from February 11 through March 14 2010.
